Buxton Opera House

The challenge

Buxton Opera House in Derbyshire is a 902-seat opera house. Built in 1903 it currently presents about 450 performances per year. The lighting console was aging and needed replacing with a more flexible lighting system.

The solution

Buxton Opera House selected Torpedo Factory Group (TFG) to select, demonstrate, and install their lighting console. TFG demonstrated both the ETC Ion & Element to the technical team at the theatre and they selected the ETC Ion.

The Ion was supplied along with 2 Samsung tablets running ETC’s aRFR app, a 2×20 fader wing, dual touch screens & a Chamsys SnakeSys B4 DMX to Ethernet converter.

The results

Training was provided to ensure a smooth transition from their existing system The Opera House and it’s team are happy with it and it’s helping the 450 performances deliver stunning experiences to their audiences.
